Thousands of separate PDFs

The AAO publishes its non-precedent decisions one file at a time. There is no way to filter them by visa, criterion or field.

The reasoning is buried

Which criteria were met, and which evidence the AAO accepted, sits in pages of text that nobody reads end to end.

Every claim is a guess

Without counting the whole library, what the AAO usually does is an impression. Each share here comes with its n.

Why a chatbot cannot do this

A library you can check beats an answer you have to trust

Every decision here links to its official PDF. Nothing is paraphrased from memory.

It cannot show its source

A chatbot will tell you what the AAO usually says. Here every line points to a published decision and its official PDF.

It cannot count

The shares on the Stats page are counted over the whole library, each with its n. A chatbot guesses.

It does not know your file

Case Matcher reads your own file next to a decision, so the comparison is about your evidence, not a general impression.

How it works

From the library to your own file

01

Filter and search.

Search published AAO decisions and narrow them by visa, outcome, petitioner type, criterion, field and year.

02

Read the reasoning.

Our summary of each decision, its criteria table and a link to the official PDF.

03

Compare with your case.

Open Case Matcher from any decision and read your own file next to it.

An example

What a decision page gives you

Example decision (fictional)

A software engineer claimed judging, original contributions and a leading role. The AAO accepted the judging evidence and found the other two described only by the employer.

  • Original contributionsNot met
  • Leading or critical roleNot met

Our summary, the criteria table and the official PDF sit on one page.

Questions

Good to know

What is in the library?

Non-precedent decisions the Administrative Appeals Office has published on uscis.gov, for EB-1A, EB-2 NIW and O-1A. We add the new ones as they appear.

Does this tell me my chances?

No. The shares are appeal outcomes: appeals of petitions USCIS had already denied. They are not approval odds for new petitions, and nothing here predicts your case.

Who writes the summaries?

We do, in our own words, from the decision text. The official PDF is always one click away; read it before you rely on a summary.

Is this legal advice?

No. Merito is not a law firm. A published decision describes one case; talk to your attorney about yours.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account. Case Matcher, the next step, needs one.

Appeal outcomes, not approval odds. A published decision describes one case.
